We recently got a chance to take a look (a bit late) at the March issue of Wanderlust, a favorite UK travel mag. In it were the Wanderlust Travel Awards 2009, which gathers opinions from its readers and decides winners in a variety of categories based on traveler satisfaction.

And the country that came out with top honors? Japan! We here at JAPANiCAN are all very pleased that Wanderlust's readers all agreed that Japan is, quite simply, the best travel destination in the world! Japan did well in other categories as well, with Kyoto's serene temples and shrines earning it second place among all cities!
